At Sefali’s Yoga, we believe that wellness should never be a luxury. That is why we are incredibly proud to partner with Heston Wellness Centre Ltd (HWC), a local non-profit organisation (currently in the process of charity registration) dedicated to improving the physical and mental health of our neighbours in Heston.
Who is Heston Wellness Centre?
Heston Wellness Centre was founded on a simple but powerful premise: that community-based exercise and social connection are the best tools for a long, healthy life. Led by a dedicated board of directors (including legal and mediation experts who ensure the highest standards of governance) HWC focuses on removing the barriers that often prevent people from staying active.
They are particularly focused on supporting our local elderly population and those who may feel socially isolated. By offering specialised sessions, such as their highly popular £1 chair yoga classes, HWC creates a safe, welcoming space where residents can improve their mobility, boost their cardiovascular health, and, most importantly, make new friends.
What Heston Wellness Centre Does?
HWC’s work goes far beyond just “fitness classes.” Their programmes are carefully designed to address the specific needs of the Heston demographic:
- Affordable Vitality: Providing ultra-low-cost sessions to ensure that financial hardship is never an obstacle to health.
- Elderly & Specialist Care: Offering tailored “Vitality in Motion” programmes that focus on fall prevention, joint mobility, and cognitive flow for seniors.
- Community Outreach: Hosting seasonal events, such as their annual dinner and dance, and fundraising raffles to bring the community together and celebrate local spirit.
- Volunteer Empowerment: Building a network of local volunteers who are trained to support their peers, ensuring the centre is truly “for the community, by the community.”
How Sefali’s Yoga Supports the Mission
Sefali’s Yoga acts as the primary service provider and professional backbone for HWC’s wellness initiatives. We are proud to provide our expertise at significantly subsidised rates to ensure that the maximum amount of HWC’s funding goes directly toward beneficiary services.
Our partnership involves:
- Elite Instruction: We provide HWC with senior instructors who hold the “gold standard” BWY Level 4 Diploma and over 20 years of experience. This ensures that even in large community groups of 50+ participants, every individual receives safe, professional, and expert guidance.
- Administrative & Strategic Support: From managing student registrations and digital record-keeping to helping organise large-scale fundraising events, our team provides the administrative “engine” that allows HWC’s directors to focus on their charitable mission.
- Safeguarding & Training: We help recruit, screen, and train the volunteers who support HWC, ensuring that every session is managed with the highest regard for health, safety, and safeguarding.
